Worum geht es im Projekt?

– mit ehrenamtlichen Senioren zu einer besseren sozialen Integration von Migranten und Gefüchteten beizutragen
– die gesellschaftliche Einbindung älterer Menschen in unserer Gesellschaft über Ehrenamt zu erhöhen

Um diese Ziele zu erreichen, sind von den Projektpartnern folgende Aktivitäten geplant:

Ehrenamtliche Senioren bei ihrem aktiven zivilgesellschaftlichen Engagement für die Integration von Zuwanderern zu unterstützen, zu begleiten und mit einem für sie passenden Programm auszubilden
Zuwanderer und Geflüchtete mit Hilfe Ehrenamtlicher beim Erlernen der Sprache des Aufnahmelandes zu unterstützen, um so die soziale und wirtschaftliche Integration zu erleichtern. Hierfür sollen Leitlinien, die auch über eine App verfügbar sind, entwickelt und ein Mentorenprogramm angeboten werden
in der Öffentlichkeit mehr Verständnis für die Bedarfe Älterer sowie von Zuwanderern und Geflüchteten zu erreichen

– to contribute to the successful integration of migrants and/or refugees into the host societies with the help of seniors
– to tackle the social exclusion of older people through volunteering services to migrants

To accomplish the project goals the partners will undertake the following objectives

– strengthening senior volunteers’ active citizenship and volunteering skills through training based on the training programme developed by the partnership
– enhancing host country language learning and the orientation process of migrants/refugees through the provision of a developed social and civic integration tool–guide for migrants (App) as well as offering teaching/ mentoring support by the trained senior volunteers
– raising public awareness on the issues related to migration and aging societies
